Just imagine that I won the recent Lotto Max and I allowed you to purchase a new car from my winnings. Some of you would choose a Lamborghini, others a Ferrari, perhaps even a Porsche or a Lexus. Personally, I would get an FJ Cruiser first and a more exotic car later. I provide one condition though ... you must allow me to have the first ride and a general inspection of "the beauty."
Before the first ride I walk around your car to look for any defects, I open the door to appreciate the new smell and lift the car's hood. Under the hood, I take off the oil cap to check the dipstick. THEN, I place a handful of sand in your engine. I am now ready for the first ride but you know the ending ....
Speaking of "dipsticks," that is probally the most assinine story you have heard today.
Why do we often treat our bodies differently than our cars, houses and boats? We would never consider harming these inatimate objects!! They are too expensive and valuable. Yet, daily, individuals place "sand" in their engine through injesting toxins, chemicals and wrong foods.
The reality of life is death but through good choices we can keep our bodies functioning for a longer time. So the next time you fuel your car or check your oil, think about the exotic car given to you at birth, your body. And, keep sand out of your engine!
Later,
rh
