I thought last night was going to be my last workout. After all the prophet declared the world would end at 6 p.m.. eastern this evening. Never even got my morning cardio in out of fear of being knocked off the treadmill.
Too funny.... I heard a lot of such sermons in my lifetime....But at least it got me think about training.
IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD WHEN YOU:
1) Have an injury.....my son is currently suffering from a serious soccer injury. He has had one too many this winter..... and the season has not officially begun. I also have several friends and clients who are suffering from training injuries. Remember, it is not the end of the world for you....BE SMART.....you may need rest....you may need a new program.... you may need a new trainer.
2) Are laid off. Yesterday I was home in the morning from work taking care of my son and my wife entered the house at 10:30 a.m. She was laid off because of restructuring.... It was not the end of the world for her... as a basement warrior,she was on the treadmill again this morning. Don't let stress interrupt your progression.
3) Fall out of a relationship. Keep on training if you find yourself in that mode.... whether as victim or victor! I have been both......it was not the end of the world for me. My training went on......
So it is off to the gym for me in a few minutes....Last night was not my last workout....I am glad it was not THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!!!
